TRUSTEES

The Trustees of the Federated Church of Norfolk are elected at the church’s Annual Meeting. Each member serves a three-year term. The terms are staggered so that one third of the board is new each year. The members of this board are responsible for the care and maintenance of Church property including the parsonage. The Trustees also manage the rental of church property to outside groups for meetings and events and they appoint the sexton and church historian.

Thanks to all who have helped us out and those of you who will continue to help.  We are very grateful for all the support

If you have any concerns or requests, please contact the chairman Jim Teague

NOVEMBER UPDATE

The Trustees have scheduled a fall clean up day for Saturday, November 1, 2008. The rain date will be November 8th. The fun begins at 9:00 AM. Please help out with the fall clean up. All helpers should bring garden tools to work with and gloves. Everyone is welcome. There are plenty of chores for young and old.

A reminder to all Trustees, that we will be meeting in the Youth Room on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm.

REMINDERS

School is back in session and with that comes a challenging situation in the church parking lot.  During the school week I would like to remind people to PLEASE USE PARKING SPACES. Do not park up against the building even if you are running in for a few minutes to drop something off.  With so many vehicles in and out and small bodies walking around we just like to keep everyone safe.  Thank you.

Tis the time of year for the weather to get chilly, and the need for heat in the church for meetings and functions.  A friendly reminder, to all, if you turn the heat on for an evening meeting please remember to turn the heat down to 58 when you leave.  Thank you.

Also, if you require the use of the kitchen stove at any time, please contact Sexton, Carol Greene as the gas will need to be turned on and the pilot lights lit.

ONGOING PROJECTS

Below, are areas the trustees feel that work should be done to better accommodate our congregation and enhance the appeal of our church.  The contractor that was with us at last month’s meeting said that our church was a landmark for the town of Norfolk.  In order to attract more people to the church there are a number of areas that need to have work done.  We especially need to accommodate people with varied abilities.  If the church is to maintain a status as a landmark then we will need to pursue these improvements as well as others that are not yet listed.  Our desire is to make the congregation aware of these areas that need to be addressed.

Yours in Service to the Lord,

The Board of Trustees

Our church is a historic building in Norfolk (that means it is old!).  There is always work to do. If you have the time and the interest please volunteer.

If anyone is interested in doing or helping with any of these projects please contact a trustee so we can work out the details. There should be job sheets at the trustees bulletin board or just write on a blank sheet of paper what you are willing to do and a date and time so if others can help they can check the web site to see who is working on what jobs.
