The Federated Church of Norfolk

We are approaching a very special time in the life of our church family. Sunday, June 6, is Confirmation Sunday. This year, three young people will confirm their baptism and be welcomed into the membership of Federated Church. All year the youth participate in a mentorship program with an adult in the church. The curriculum asks them to discuss God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, worship, service and their spiritual journeys.

On Sunday, May 16, the Confirmands met with members of the Board of Deacons and shared their Faith Papers. In the papers the youth responded to the following questions: Why would you like to be confirmed? What does confirmation mean to you? What does participation in the church mean to you? How will your participation in the life of the church change after you are confirmed? The deacons were very impressed with the thoughtful responses from the youth.

During the Sunday morning worship service on June 6, we will confirm Will Heffernan, Paige Myatt, and Sabrina Newman. We look forward to sharing this celebration with them. Please be sure to greet them after the worship service at a special fellowship hour in their honor.
